As you heard in the sermon this week, the ELCA has published a Voting and Civic Participation Guide, titled, Called To Be a Public Church. It aims not to promote specific candidates, but to help us think about our faith in relation to voting.

Briefings on a handful of issues, adapted from this Guide, will be inserts in bulletins in these few Sundays before the election. This Sunday, there were two: an Introductory Letter and a brief on Global Hunger and Poverty. In coming Sundays, there will be more on Global Warming, Hunger and Poverty in the U.S., Immigration, and Peace and Conflict.

On the ELCA website, there are other resources available for congregational ministries of advocacy.

As you read these resources and prayerfully consider your voting decisions, feel free to share your thoughts by clicking the link for “Comments.”
